Andrew:
I don't do this anymore. But before I left, we were toying with the idea of
buying a PDA that had Ethernet capability built in. There are a few out
there, including PocketPC's with PCMCIA slots and a few that have an RJ-45
port built right into the unit. A solution like this will probably cost
more than $350 total though.
What are you trying to test? Ordinary Resnets are cat5, but you are saying
DSL. Is there a DSL modem that students plug their Ethernet card into in
every room?
Like I said though, I left before I got a chance to get one and try it out.
(is a good excuse to get a good PDA if you are the one doing the testing!)
Someone might be able to talk about this more authoritative than me.
