Anyone play around with Deep Freeze (www.deepfreezeusa.com)? We use it on approximately 60 lab machines, and we haven't had to go over and clean them up since, works great.

One way that I restored Windows 98 registries on boot was to do the following:
1) Modify the MSDOS.SYS file so the BOOTGUI=0 instead of 1. This requires
you to type WIN in order for Windows to load and does not automatically
load the old registry.
2) Copy the existing SYSTEM.DAT and USER.DAT from the windows directory to
a hidden directory.
3) Modify your AUTOEXEC.BAT file to delete the SYSTEM.DAT and USER.DAT
files from windows with the DELTREE /Y option. Then have the AUTOEXEC.BAT
copy the backup SYSTEM.DAT and USER.DAT from the hidden directory to the
windows directory. Finally, use the AUTOEXEC.BAT file attribute the dat
files and run the WIN program.
This can be used in conjunction with POLEDIT to lock machines down and keep
existing settings.
