Naomi Schmidt at MIT, who is graciously coordinating this list, has
indicated to me that the 25 or so people who signed up at the SIGUCCS BoF
have now been added to this mailing list.
To the other members of this list, a Birds of a Feather discussion was held
at the 1993 SIGUCCS conference on the topic of "Residence Hall Wiring,
Services, and Support". About 25 people attended and a lively hour of
discussion covered areas such as how many and what types of data
connections are (being) installed, what protocols are/will be routed, what
services (IP, microcomputer application software, AFS) are/will be
provided, what level of support is/will be provided, how printing is/will
be handled, and what other ramifications people might expect as their
various residence hall projects progress.
The 25 or so of us who were at SIGUCCS look forward to joining the high
quality discussion that has been on the list so far.
