Just for everyone's information -
When a message to an address on the resnet-forum mailing list cannot be
delivered for some reason (user's account no longer valid, something wrong
with the mail server at a receiving institution, etc), the message bounces
and gets sent back to me and to the original poster of the message.
Sometimes the bounced message comes from the MIT mail server and sometimes
from the mail server at the bouncing institution. When this happens, I try
to contact the postmaster at the bouncing institution to find out the reason
for the problem, and usually it is solved in one of two ways - (1) I remove
the offending address from the mailing list because the account is no longer
valid, or (2) the ailing mail server is cured and no longer refuses to accept
mail.
