Last summer, we ran level 5 wire on a port per pillow basis to all
dormitories here at the University at Albany (SUNYA). Only one
building is currently active with approx. 120 connections. We will
be phasing in the other 5,000+ connections over the next couple
of years.
Since we have a opportunity to set the ground-rules before the
network actually powers up, we're in the process of formulating
an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) that will cover the use of all
the communications capabilties available to students (voice,
video, and data).
I know that this topic has been discussed previously here, but
I would appreciate any recommendations that anyone might
have to offer, as well as examples of existing AUPs.
In particular, I would ask that Bernard Hecker of Trinity College
and Leo Geoffrion of Skidmore repost (or privately mail) the text
of their AUPs which they published back in August of last summer.
