As we plan for constructing a new residence hall, our budget is tightening =
faster than expected. Apparently the construction boom in Seattle has grea=
tly increased costs since the project was budgeted.

I'm considering specifying a WiFi only network for the new building, instea=
d of the WiFi plus one port per pillow network that I'd like to have. We h=
ave less than 10% wired jack utilization at the moment, I expect that deman=
d to drop, and it seems that if we could provide a high performance WiFi ne=
twork with some wired ports in gaming lounges that we could have satisfied =
residents in the 2020s.

Is anyone running a WiFi only building? If so, how's that working out?

Thanks,

Noel McHugh

Residential IT Manager
