and disruptive manufacturing techniques that have empowered his team to
fabricate complex geometry for their pioneering work in fashion, textiles,
and medical devices.
*Ronald Duncan* and *Vishal Sachdev* (University of Illinois) - will speak
about the University=E2=80=99s unique program that provides a pathway for
individuals to create and =E2=80=9Cmake=E2=80=9D to improve their livelihoo=
ds regardless of
their literacy or resources.
*Bree Ettinger* (Emory University) - will present a design project where
students designed a bottle using methods learned in Numerical Analysis and
created tangible versions with a 3D printer to check their calculations.
*Mike Pitcher* (The University of Texas at El Paso) - will present a
workshop titled: "A Crash Course on Setting Up a Maker Space - From Idea to
Implementation." You will learn what has been successful when it comes to
technologies, logistics, layouts.

*Autodesk* - will be offering in depths workshops in Tinkercad and Fusion
360.
*Data Driven 3D Design* - is a pre-conference workshop (registration to
conference and workshop is required) led by renowned Rhino trainer Andres
Gonzales. Design and concept development come to life in numerous real-life
examples in this workshop that introduces participants to the logic and
principles of parametric created 3D-Forms.
*Machining 3D Files with a Shopbot CNC Machine* - Take 3D design files and
machine them with subtractive technologies. In this workshop, participants
will import 3D design files (.stl or .objformat) into Vectric CAD/CAM
software and prepare them for machining in wood, foam or plastics. We=E2=80=
=99ll
talk bits, feeds, speeds,and toolpathing strategies.Topics of discussion
will include how to integrate digital fabrication (additive and
subtractive) with Common Core, NGSS and Project-Based Learning.
