Good Morning Everyone,
I know this question has come up here many times before, but I haven't seen it in a awhile so I thought I'd ask...

What are your institutions doing for guest wireless access? For those institutions doing open access, were there any issues with your legal department to work out before providing open access? Are you providing unrestricted access (applications and/or bandwidth)? Have you had any issues with DMCA complaints or other nefarious activities on your guest networks?

For institutions not providing open access, what does your access process look like? Do you require sponsorship by a university employee? What information are you collecting about guests?

At WCU, we've always been very hesitant to offer open access. Over the years, we've moved from "Call the Help Desk to get access" to "Any employee can create you an account." We're looking at changing this process again, and I'd like to see it as self-service as possible. Just wanted to get an idea of what others are doing.

Thanks in advance,
Stephen Wilson
