Hello, ResNetters!
Preparations at WCU are currently underway for what should be an excellent
2017 Student Technology Conference June 19-23.
As we look forward to 2018, the conference selection committee would like
to put out the call for bids to host the 2018 conference again. The
Conference Selection Committee has reached out to select universities for
interest in hosting due to the limited timeframe, but we are welcoming bids
from the community as well. Without the generosity and hard work of the
ResNet community this conference would not be possible.
As a previous host, I can say that hosting a conference can be a
challenging but also a fun and rewarding experience. This experience will
allowing you and your colleagues to develop many skills and showcase your
university.
The bid process has 3 phases:
Phase 1 (due Friday, Dec. 23)
Submit a letter of intent to the Conference Selection Committee. The letter
should contain your reasons for wanting to host, as well as an indication
of support from your immediate supervisor.
Phase 2 (due Wednesday, March 1)
Create a website highlighting your campus venues in relation to hosting the
conference.
Phase 3 (March)
If your institution is selected as a finalist, one or two members of the
Conference Selection Committee will come for a site visit in March.
