Hi,

We do not have a dress code in our help service -- over the years I've
found that these codes are counter-productive, generating discussion and
questioning that starts to take a life of its own. We're lucky in the sense
that our student typical dress ranges from unremarkable to dressy. We allow
baseball-type caps. Earbuds have been the closest "discussion point"
related to dress (we don't allow them in any form).

We've also never had a complaint about student dress -- politeness and
competence are the attributes that are most recognized and appreciated.

Having said that, it may be worth having a discussion with students about
expectations post-graduation.
