With regard to student or any non college owned device we teach the user or
talk them through it.  Our policy is to not touch their personal devices

Imaging, OS installation: We use recovery partition.  If non existent they
are sent to the manufacturer for an image or OS disc.  If that is not an
option, we offer up linux.
Bootcamp: Haven't really run into this, but provided they have the software
we will talk them through it.
Data backups: We talk them through it.
Malware removal: We talk them through it, typically use malwarebytes.
