At Duke we purchase neck lanyards and ID holders and then print paper namet=
ags with designs from one of our students. It has their first name and depa=
rtment. Our multimedia students are allowed to design their own. And then =
we keep a drawer or a hanging hook, depending on location, where students l=
eave their lanyards when they aren't on shift.
Lanyards are worth investigating if you're concerned about pins and/or dama=
ging shirts. For pricing YMMV especially based on colors, but for us it gen=
erally runs $2 a lanyard when you buy in bulk.

I hope you're having a fantastic start to the summer. I was wondering if an=
yone wanted to share ideas or suggestions for student name badges. Our camp=
us staff has been vocalizing that it would be beneficial for our ITS studen=
t workers to have name badges when they are out in the field. We often str=
uggle with our students wearing name tags. I am looking for good vendors fo=
r name tags. Maybe magnetic or name tags with pins. We have tried name tag=
s printed with Aery templates but they are pretty gaudy and bulky. We basic=
ally want to have generic tags with the student's job position. Also lookin=
g for ideas to keep students wearing their name tags. We have approx 80-100=
student workers in ITS. Thanks!
