We've seen some great proposals for the Student Technology Conference 2013 =
so far. I'm really looking forward to seeing some of these.
We still have a few themes that are heavier than others. "Current Computin=
g" and "Support Operations" are very light at the moment. Here are some id=
eas to get you thinking about what YOU could submit by next Saturday:
Current Computing: email outsourcing, cloud computing, lecture capture, vi=
rtualization, thin clients, iPads, BYOD, tablets, webcasting, MOOC support
Support Operations: support tools, ticketing systems, knowledgebase, custo=
m tools and solutions, root cause analysis, resources, cost cutting measur=
es, cross training, new services, new training initiatives for clients, new=
ways to pull data
Some of these themes overlap a bit. For instance, SCCM could be a "cool to=
ol" or it could be a support operation, depending upon the angle of your pr=
esentation. Just use your best judgment or ask. We may end up shuffling a=
round a few "border" presentations to other themes anyway once we start acc=
epting (not that you would need to change your presentation).
Remember that the deadline for submission is April 13th.
Thanks for all your hard work. I cannot wait to see you at Purdue.
