Traditionally we load our imaging systems (Microsoft Deployment 2012) with =
the contents of the Dell OEM media, to use as a source for reloading servic=
ed computers. Our process has been compliant with Dell's published whitepa=
pers in this regard. As of Windows 8, Microsoft has implemented the new OE=
M 3.0 Activation methods for licensing and activation, which now pulls uniq=
ue product keys directly from the BIOS and does not use standardized keys a=
nymore like Vista and Windows 7 did.

The problem we are seeing now is that the imaging process does not seem cap=
able of pulling the key from the BIOS, and therefore the OEM activation is =
not preserved. Loading the computer from the Dell Win8 DVD works fine thou=
gh, which suggests that the mechanism for retrieving the key is built into =
the disc somehow. Has anyone figured out a way to image Dells and preserve=
/re-establish the OEM activation with the supplied OEM media?
