As vice president this year, I am heading up the election process. I have
been working with Loriann from Yale who sent out a message a few weeks ago
looking for board nominations (Thank you Loriann). We are still in need of
candidates to carry on the good work we are doing for the
organization. Below are the positions we are looking to fill this year. I
have been on the board for several years and have enjoyed my time working
closely with the other board members and the experience I have gained. I
hope you will consider joining us.
The board is looking to fill three positions:
*Vice President *(Year One of Three-Year Presidential Track)*:*
1. Reviews official corporation policies annually and accepts primary
responsibility for revision of any documents with respect to corporation
policies (e.g. bylaws, charter, etc.)
2. Works with the President-elect
3. Works in tandem with the Director of External Relations to serve as
an advocate for the organization with external partners
4. Vice President shall assume the duties of the President in the
absence of the President and President-elect
5. May represent the organization at various conference and partnership
meetings and events
*Director of Conference Management* (Two year term):
This representative is responsible for oversight and management of the
annual ResNet Student Technology Conference. The Director of Conference
Management is responsible for chairing the Conference Selection Committee,
chairing the Conference Planning Committee, and serving as a voting member
of the Conference Finance Committee. The Conference Planning Committee is
composed of representation from the program committee, past host and
current host institutions, and is charged with ensuring a quality event.
*Director of Member and Volunteer Relations* (Two year term):
This representative is responsible for encouraging member participation and
coordinating introductions to Board members, committees and subcommittees.
The Director of Member and Volunteer Relations will also be the agent of
the Board dedicated to soliciting feedback and ideas from the general
membership of the organization. This position will also coordinate the
activities surrounding the Senti-Merriman Award, and be tasked with
maintaining a membership database in conjunction with chairing the
information resources committee.
