Greetings ResNet!
Preparations are well under way for the 2013 conference at Purdue =
University in Indiana, and planning is just beginning for the 2014 =
conference at Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA. As always, our =
volunteers are working to make them the best conferences yet.
Despite all this planning for 2013 and 2014, we're looking even farther =
to the future: I'm excited to announce that we're now soliciting bids to =
host the 2015 ResNet Student Technology Conference in <insert your =
school here!>.
Personally speaking (and I'm sure all nineteen former conference hosts =
would agree), hosting a ResNet Conference provides you and your =
colleagues an opportunity to highlight your institution. Though hosting =
was certainly a challenge, it was one of the most fun and rewarding =
experiences of my career, and helped me develop many skills. And even =
though summer 2015 may seem like a long way off, those who have hosted =
in the past agree that having this much time to plan greatly facilitates =
the quality and success of the event.
In general, the bid process is broken into three phases:
Phase 1 (Due Feb 8th)
Submit a letter of intent to the Conference Selection Committee. The =
letter should contain your reasons for wanting to host, as well as an =
indication of support from your immediate supervisor.=20
Phase 2 (Due Feb 22nd)
Create a website highlighting your campus venues in relation to hosting =
the conference.=20
Phase 3
If your institution is selected as a finalist, two members of the =
Conference Selection Committee will come for a site visit in March.
For more information on submitting a bid or what hosting entails, please =
visit the newly-launched ResNet site at:
http://www.resnetinc.org/student-technology-conference/hosting/
You can also contact us (the Conference Selection Committee) at =
hosting@resnetinc.org. We're happy to answer any questions you may have. =
If you=92re interested in joining the Conference Selection Committee, =
we=92ll have more info on that soon.
We look forward to seeing you at Purdue this summer!
Best,
Adam Bray
