We have been using SCCM for the last 7+ years and are about to upgrade to the latest version.
We currently use it for Software distribution, inventory (SW & HW), Microsoft updates, Operating system deployment, Desired configuration management, and reporting. We recently added Quest (www.quest.com) to our SCCM environment now manage our Macs through SCCM also.
With the newest version (2012) we are also planning to migrate from McAfee to Forefront (now System Center Endpoint Protection) for virus protection since it is built in to CM 2012. Other features will likely be turned on also but those discussions have not yet started.
