We will be implementing WEPA for our undergraduate printing program next
month. They pretty much ticked off every feature request from both the
students and for our administrative needs. They have been great in the
implementation stage so far, and I'm looking forward to having absolutely
everything provided by a single vendor. I did not want to run the server
or deal with any money handling.

That being said, the pricing is steeper than cobbling together the pieces
on your own, and I would say that their solution is limited toward student
printing. There is no copying support, and the back end accounting that
you'd need for departmental billing really isn't there, unless you can
figure that out through your campus card system.

Apparently ePRINTit <http://www.eprintit.com>is establishing a presence in
the US, and wants to be a competitor to WEPA. I don't know many details,
but their solution includes printing kiosks as well as integration with
other networked printing devices. It seems like you need an enabling
device, though, where something like PaperCut can be embedded right into
many machines...
