Matt:

There is a Novell NLM for BootP that I could track down; but I'd
recommend running Linux or 386BSD and using Unix server software -- the OS is
about $50 on CD for Linux, and more than a couple folks around here
have put it up and are pretty happy with it.

I am currently trying to convince myself that BootP is robust enough
for production by the end of this month. It seems quite good to me,
but we want to hammer on the box before the students do it for us.

If there are any folks who would like to spawn a mini-list to discuss
bootp oddities, I would love to have some people to bounce oddities
off of. I'd expect it to be pretty quiet, but it'd be nice to ask
things like "is it a recognized problem to try opening MacTCP set for
Ethernet Server addressing on a non-networked mac and have the Finder
hang before it ever gets going..." and simple questions like that :-)
