Well, my suggestion to share manuals and documentation has evoked
quite a number of positive responses -- enough to make it worth giving
it a try.

To get it started, I've created a gopher directory at the following
path:

Type=1+
Name= User guides and documents for residential networking
Path=1/help/guides
Host=grace.skidmore.edu
Port=70

At present, it has one item "The Well Connected Mac" -- a guide that I
wrote about 18 months ago. It covers basic MacTCP, along with
CAP, Eudora, WAIS,... This first edition was actually written for our
faculty/staff offices, but I want to rewrite it for the launching of
our dorm net in September. We also want to create a parallel document
(perhaps named "Windows to the World") for the Winsock applications.

You are welcome to adapt the manuals. The files are in Microsoft Word format.
If you think you've improved on them, send yours in and I'll post them.

Incoming submissions can be in the form of email to me

or you can do anonymous ftp to the incoming directory of
foureyes.skidmore.edu. When you deposit items there, please email me
a note to remember to pick them up.
