I think that's a great idea.  I would be very interested in any information
about software conflicts.  

I had no idea until today that Windows for Workgroups didn't work well with
Trupet Winsock, even though I'm familiar with both.  (We don't run
Win4Workgroups at SSU.) 

I've been putting together some web documents about the residential network. 
It just now occurs to me I should include a list of software conflicts
encountered in the last several months.

We are about to begin the startup of residential networking this summer. 
We have essentially the same setup as Joe Holmes describes below running on
our test machines.  It looks quite good and goes a long way to achieve a
sense of parity with what the Mac community can do using MacTCP.

Now, we need to put into place the user documentation, installation
procedures, ... to allow people to install this stuff quickly and with
minimal staff intervention.  I would love to start a sharing process for
these installation and training guides. 

If there's sufficient interest, I'll be happy to make space on our gopher
server to facilitate the information sharing.
