I have been at Carnegie-Mellon University for 10 years now of which
Internet access predecessed me. In the early years it was available to
students via clusters, in later years it is availalle via Ethernet,
SLIP, Token Ring, and AppleTalk services which are all offered in our
residence halls. We have had some incidents where students would get
involved with hate wars via the Internet and ping another network to
death for retaliation. When made of aware of the situtation we first
reprimanded and then disallow students internet access, (sometimes they
loose their network connection and account altogether).
