Crypto Cloud Skewers Itself With Defamation Claim
http://j.mp/ZL8Guz (Wired)
"This is so often the case with public web services. You can't
always see behind the curtain. Amazon's cloud services are a
prime example. But the CipherCloud controversy goes several
steps further. Over the weekend, after the company noticed that
someone had used its marketing materials to criticize its
practices on a web discussion forum for core software engineers,
it filed a DMCA takedown notice - the standard means of
protecting copyright on the internet. Now the hacker world is
debating whether the company has a legitimate DMCA claim or it
was just looking for a quick way to squelch criticism."
