AP report on cell phones contradicted by carriers
Various sources including Verizon and Sprint are contradicting AP's
reports of an ordered cell phone shutdown in Boston, but note massive
overloading of cell networks preventing persons without landlines from
communicating by phone. This is unfortunately a common situation in
emergencies, due to provisioning and inherent technology limitations.
More info as warranted.
