[ PRIVACY Forum ] Google Maps "Street View" Circa 1907? Everything

Greetings.  When Google started rolling out their "Street View"
photo mapping service, I wrote that I don't see any particular
significant privacy issues with the service in its current
incarnation ( http://lauren.vortex.com/archive/000244.html ).

Still, there continue to be people who are upset about detailed
street level photos taken in public places being published, even
though both law and history is on Google's side with this one.

So I was amused to be reminded yesterday that something very much
like Street View in significant ways (within the bounds of available
technology) existed a full century ago!
