Workarounds for Chrome/Google Search new left panel formatting issues
NOTE: This panel appears to be rolling out gradually, you may not
see it yet!
Experiments suggest for now there are two approaches to working
around this mess, that I see people are upset about all over the Net.
1) Extend the window horizontally. As you extend to the right, the obscured
text gradually comes into view at higher zoom levels. In my case, I actually
have to drag the window partly into the next monitor (not doable on Macs
unless you are in the mode where windows can extend across monitors).
2) Under MORE at the top of serach results, there is a Web entry. This
eliminates (for now, anyway) AI overviews and that new left AI panel.
It appears to be sticky across searches as long as the same session
is in progress.
Yes, these workarounds should not be necessary. It's as if Google is
TRYING to drive users away.
