Administrivia: Use of "Cloudmark Sender Intelligence" may block emails
If you are using "Cloudmark Sender Intelligence" to filter your
inbound emails, note that you may stop receiving important emails
without any notice, when Cloudmark in error blocks ALL inbound mail
from specific sites on silent suspicion of spam or other unwanted
behavior.
In the process of traffic analysis, I discovered that some recipients of
this list had been blocked for some time from receiving any emails from
the vortex.com servers. Some of the blocking was on a deferral basis
from the lists, some were "hard" permanent bounces. In neither case were
the subscriptions actually removed. I have contacted Cloudmark and
the block has apparently been lifted for now, but of course this does
not guarantee another block based on false positives won't reappear in
the future. If you're a Cloudmark user and have a way to add exceptions,
you may wish to add vortex.com to that exception list which hopefully
will cover the affected IP addresses on which blocks are made.
Frankly, it's fairly obvious that big tech would LOVE to get rid of
email completely if they could, and force everyone onto much more
privacy invasive apps. The number of hoops that the handful of
major email providers have instituted to get email through to their
users is a genuine technological circus of horror, but you already knew that.
