Google AI is a moron when it comes to domains
I know, it's a moron with most stuff, not just domains.
But, you might think, maybe, that questions that have definitive
answers would be within AI's capacity to answer. Not a chance. Just
now it took me no less than six rounds of back and forth to get a
correct answer from Gemini regarding the expiration date of a domain
clearly listed correctly in WHOIS. It gave an old date. Then when I
said it was wrong it gave a date too far in the future, beyond the
actual expiration date. Then it decided I really meant .net and not
.com (I didn't). Finally, when I told it what the date actually was,
it apologized for the "back and forth" and agreed, making a variety of
excuses about cached data, "historical data" on websites, and more.
UTTERLY USELESS. WORSE THAN USELESS.
