Google's utterly evil Gemini spying on Gmail users
I keep being contacted by people who discovered Google Gemini spying
on their Gmail, insisting they never turned it on and not knowing how
to turn it off.
How did this happen?
When Google started pushing their Gemini Gmail spying feature, they
launched it using modal multiple page pop-ups confusingly worded in such
a way as to encourage users to accidentally give spying permission while
trying to dismiss the pop-up. The wording was such that most users
probably didn't even realize that AI spying on their Gmail was involved.
Once it's on, turning it off involves digging down in the Gmail deep
settings, and turning off two different toggles, neither of which is
worded in a way as to make it obvious that they involve Gemini spying.
