New U.S. wireless network a hazard for GPS
http://j.mp/gejwnT (AP / The Star)
"A new, ultra-fast wireless Internet network is threatening to
overpower GPS signals across the U.S. and interfere with everything
from airplanes to police cars to consumer navigation devices."

We've talked about this issue before. I'm not in a position right
now to make a technical analysis of the actual real-world interference
potential. But two things I know for *sure* about these arguments:
1) Cellphone GPS is absolutely as important as standalone GPS --
arguably for average consumers even more important given current
usage trends.
2) Any proposed "interference solution" that depends on retrofitting
existing devices in the field that use GPS is ... utterly unworkable bull!
