A Google Search for "3.55 Firmware Jailbreak" yields
almost 15K hits, including step by step guides and
videos.
Uh, methinks the jailbreak isn't going to be vanishing anytime soon --
or ever. However, the publicity from Sony's legal actions is
certainly raising awareness of the exploit's existence.
