More patients horribly damaged by radiation overdoses

"A Pinpoint Beam Strays Invisibly, Harming Instead of Healing"

http://bit.ly/gUgUN8 (New York Times)

It would of course be unfair to equate medical radiation therapy
equipment (operated by trained professionals in clean environments),
with airport body x-ray scanners (rarely inspected and operated by
untrained personnel in crowded and sometimes filthy airport
terminals).

Point being, equipment fails, even under the best of circumstances.
