Greetings,
I had skipped my introduction, figuring that I had little to say to the
list members; but I will join my voice to the recent batch of
introductions.
I am a Ph.D. student on Univ. Nova de Lisboa, Portugal. I have been
helping with the administration of several unix machines on a volunteer
basis. The growing number of Portuguese students and teenagers connected
to the internet (a recent phenomenum in Portugal) makes securing the
machines a major concern.
Intrusion detection systems would help to manage the problem, specially
with our chronical technical staff problems.
