Description
There has been a growing number of reported cases by minority students regarding micro-aggressive behavior within and outside the classroom on university and college campuses across the country. In some instances, these behaviors that have been reported have led students to leave college and transfer somewhere else. This webinar will provide participants with information on what microaggression looks like; the impact it can have on specific student populations, and how to address these experiences in the classroom, as well as campus-wide. It is hoped that this presentation will raise awareness about the need for proactive steps that can address these issues from an individual perspective as well as institution-wide to make meaningful progress in making a more welcoming environment for all
students.
As a result of this webinar, participants will be able to do the following:

Identify the types of behaviors that can be classified as micro-aggressive.

Initiate proactive steps to reduce and/or eliminate micro-aggression in the classroom.
