Hi all,
For those of you who weren't at the end of Monday's Senate meeting, I wanted
to inform you of my plans to resign as Vice Speaker very soon. I've enjoyed
my full year in the position, but I've found that I don't have time to
effectively do everything I want to do here at MIT, and Vice Speaker is
something that I like to do, but I simply just don't have time for. I feel
that as my time has become more divided recently too, my performance as both
VS and a Senator has degraded, so I hope to be able to focus my time in the
UA now on being an effective Senator.
The position must be held by a former voting member of Senate, and the
election for this will probably happen at one of the first few meetings in
the Spring. I would highly encourage anyone interested in the position to
let me know, and I'll gladly help you out with whatever you need to know.
I'll be here over all of IAP, so there should be plenty of time for me to
get anyone interested up to speed. If you have any questions, feel free to
send them my way, I'd be happy to answer them.
