Hello,
Over the retreat, it was briefly mentioned that legislation should be
proposed requesting a plan of action from the administration regarding the
increase in enrollment. Betsy Riley and myself have agreed to hold a bill
writing meeting Sunday evening. We are aware that this bill will not be on
the agenda for next week's meeting.
The motivation for this bill is to understand what issues administrators
plan to address regarding enrollment. The UA needs to be in a position to
call attention to issues we feel are important to enrollment that are not
being handled. A non-exhaustive list of issues could include academic class
size, seating in common areas, UROP funding, and P.E. class size.
I plan to use the enrollment
report<http://ua.mit.edu/transparency/reports/enrollment_report.pdf>created
last year as a source when trying to hash out what needs to be
asked.
