From: Paul Baranay <pbaranay@MIT.EDU> Date: Mon, 12 Oct 2009 02:07:24 -0400 To: ua-senate@mit.edu --0016e6d644d07e60600475b6bfc6 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Hi Senate, The agenda for the second meeting of UAS 41 has been finalized: http://web.mit.edu/ua/senate/UAS41/agendas/2009-10-13.pdf You can find the relevant legislation (and other documents) here: http://ua.mit.edu/senate/legislation/#pending The agenda is quite full, but every piece of it is quite important. However, the pace of the meetings will be greatly accelerated if you read the documents in advance and are prepared to comment on them as soon as the session begins. In particular, I encourage you to use this thread to generate discussion about anything you think may be controversial. (Alternately, feel free to use this thread to declare your support for things that you think are awesome!) Identifying possible concerns and generating potential amendments online is often much quicker than doing so during actual Senate meetings. Unfortunately, some documents are not fully assembled yet -- in particular, the Executive Committee's report on the Institute-wide Planning Task Force and the Finance Board's Summer/Fall 2009 Appeals are still forthcoming. I expect that these will be ready by Monday evening. Finally, I apologize for the slight delay in sending out the final agenda; I was waiting on a few pieces of legislation to come through. I will be less lenient about this in the future, though, so please send your legislation to me promptly. As an advance warning, the legislation deadline for the third meeting will be this *Friday*, so that I can send the agenda out on Saturday. Sincerely, Paul --0016e6d644d07e60600475b6bfc6 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi Senate,

The agenda for the second meeting of UAS 41 has been fina= lized: <a href=3D"http://web.mit.edu/ua/senate/UAS41/agendas/2009-10-13.pdf= ">http://web.mit.edu/ua/senate/UAS41/agendas/2009-10-13.pdf

You = can find the relevant legislation (and other documents) here: <a href=3D"ht= tp://ua.mit.edu/senate/legislation/#pending">http://ua.mit.edu/senate/legis= lation/#pending

The agenda is quite full, but every piece of it is quite important.=A0 = However, the pace of the meetings will be greatly accelerated if you read t= he documents in advance and are prepared to comment on them as soon as the = session begins.

In particular, I encourage you to use this thread to generate discussio= n about anything you think may be controversial.=A0 (Alternately, feel free= to use this thread to declare your support for things that you think are a= wesome!)=A0 Identifying possible concerns and generating potential amendmen= ts online is often much quicker than doing so during actual Senate meetings= .

Unfortunately, some documents are not fully assembled yet -- in particu= lar, the Executive Committee's report on the Institute-wide Planning Ta= sk Force and the Finance Board's Summer/Fall 2009 Appeals are still for= thcoming.=A0 I expect that these will be ready by Monday evening.

Finally, I apologize for the slight delay in sending out the final agen= da; I was waiting on a few pieces of legislation to come through.=A0 I will= be less lenient about this in the future, though, so please send your legi= slation to me promptly.=A0 As an advance warning, the legislation deadline = for the third meeting will be this Friday, so that I can send the ag= enda out on Saturday.

Sincerely,
Paul
--0016e6d644d07e60600475b6bfc6--
