Hi Senators,
Thanks for a fantastic first meeting on Monday! The Chancellor and the
deans were incredibly impressed by the questions you asked about the
Institute-wide budget cuts. If you have any further comments or questions,
I'd encourage you to use the Chancellor's comment box:

As a reminder, the next meeting is *Tuesday, October 13* at 7:30 PM in order
to account for the Columbus Day holiday. This meeting will be very busy,
featuring -- among other items -- discussion and approval of the UA's report
on the Task Force recommendations; confirmation of several interim chair
appointments; a bill on creating a new Committee on Alumni Relations; and,
of course, approval of the UA budget. The current draft of the agenda is

If you would like to add an agenda item (either legislation or a discussion
topic), please let me know by Friday, so that I can distribute the final
agenda on Saturday. I will send another email with more details and
