I think that = some of us should meet this weekend to make this happen. Essentially, Dean Colombo put forward a framework that will include = administrative feedback from dining hall dorm housemasters and student = input from dining committees and dorm executive committees; he has also = indicated that he would be open to UA input. However, the emphasis on = dining hall dorms seems to ignore the impact that changes in the dining = system, even in issues such as the cost of the preferred dining plan, = could have on the entire campus [1]. Additionally, with the final Task = Force report so far delayed, proposal drafting will begin after Senate = adjourns for the semester and proposals generated may gain critical mass = before we return. It is imperative that we make clear the (entire) = student body's interest in changes to Dining before this process begins. My opinion is that we draft a resolution/bill that addresses these = concerns, requests reasoning and proposals instead of absolute = directives, and emphasizes the need for a more widespread sample of = students in gaining feedback. Because of the timeline, this bill will = have to be brought up in Senate as new business--we are not shooting for = the agenda.
