Dear Senate,
As a reminder, the final meeting of this term is Monday, December 7, 2009,
at 7:30 PM in W20-400. We will be joined by special guest Dana Mead, who
is the Chairman of the Corporation, and a very engaging speaker. Please
don't be late to this meeting.
Additonally, I would definitely recommend reading on the Corporation in
advance in order to get the greatest possible benefit from Dana Mead's
visit. The Corporation's own website is a great resource:
http://web.mit.edu/corporation/about.html
There will be time for questions; feel free to get in touch with me and
Tim if you are unsure whether a question would be appropriate for the
Chairman.
As always, anyone from the community is welcome, so please invite your
constituents to come.
---
Monday will be a business meeting as usual. Legislation and any other
agenda items for the meeting are due on Saturday at noon. The agenda will
be available that evening. Currently, the agenda includes voting on the
UA budget, Finboard allocations for IAP/Spring 2010, and pending
legislation regarding the Nominations Committee. I will also ask Senators
to give an end-of-term report on their commmittee/project progress.
Beause Finboard's allocation meeting is this Saturday and Sunday, however,
the actual Finboard allocation document will not be available until ~24
hours (or less) before the meeting. I will work with appropriate members
of Finboard to ensure that the document is made available to the Senate as
soon as possible.
---
If you know you are going to be absent or late to Monday's meeting, please
let ua-senate-attendance@mit.edu know as soon as possible. As always, we
strongly encourage you to find a proxy.
---
Minutes from Monday's meeting will be available soon; please forward them
to your constituencies when they are available.
---
My inbox and door are always open to Senators. Please do not hesitate to
contact me and Tim via ua-senate-officers@mit.edu with any questions or
concerns, to schedule a meeting, or just to talk.
---
Good luck with the end of term! I look forward to seeing you on Monday.
Sincerely,
Paul
