This was entirely my fault for replying all to this email- I completely take
the responsibility for that spam, and am well aware of the irony of it.
I did not remember that Ryan was a Senator. Given that he is, it is not my
place to say what he can and cannot send to ua-senate. It is certainly not
my place to say so on behalf of The Tech.
My sole intention with the first reply was to simply clarify that The Tech
did not ask Ryan to ask around for extra press passes. I overstepped my
bounds in asking Senate to ignore his request, because I was working off the
assumption that Ryan was not a Senator. I realize that my attempt at damage
control failed miserably, but it was my, personal, attempt, not sanctioned
by the paper at large.
This is not signed on behalf of The Tech- as an individual I don't have the
authority to broadly speak for the newspaper, and I want to make that very
clear. Instead, it is simply a personal apology and clarification for my
actions.
This is the last email I will send to ua-senate on this topic. Please
address any subsequent criticism to me directly.

If the Tech will tell a current senator what he is or is not authorized to
say on ua-senate, it needs to seriously rethink its strategy about
avoiding things that reflect poorly on the Tech.
And if the Tech doesn't know who the current senators are, it looks
incompetent or worse.
