That is fine. If you guys are ok funding the T-shirts, that by itself woul=
d be very useful. I attached a link below for a Tech article on a previous=
HOTZ. This is the first year it will be in IAP, but it should still give =
you a good feeling of what it is.

UA typically does not fund prizes for events... could we do something like =
what we did the other night where you use money you already have (if you ha=
ve any) for the $250 gift card and then we could fill in the $250 hole and =
t-shirts?

Best,

Hey Senate,

To get to the point, I want to see Senate's response to consider funding ~ =
$1150 to help through an event. I am hoping to hear responses rather quick=
ly, as we need to make sure we have a source for funding!

I have been helping DAPER plan their annual HOTZ event this upcoming IAP. =
Basically it is a cardboard boat building competition. It happens at the e=
nd of IAP, and has had great success in the past. Recently it has suffered=
a bit, but I would like to try and help them revitalize the event by using=
the UA's ability to advertise and promote.

We would like to include a prize for the winner - we were thinking an Ameri=
can Express Gift Card for $250. We also would like to get 75 shirts, which=
would be approximately $12. Would Senate be interested in funding $1150 t=
o accomplish this?

We would not be funding he entire event (there is also advertising and mate=
rial costs that DAPER is covering). This event is open to more than just t=
he undergrads, but it is certainly focused to them and sounds like a great =
opportunity.

Thanks,
Michael Walsh
