Hi, everyone:

It appears that I misspoke at 42 UAS 16 about the date of officer elections=
.

In the calendar<http://web.mit.edu/ua/senate/UAS42/9/A1-%20Spring%202011%20=
Senate%20Calendar.pdf>I
submitted at the beginning of the semester, Senate Officer elections
were
slated for April 25th (42 UAS 17); this is consistent with the relevant
section of the Bylaws. Given recent events and my mistake at the last
meeting, I do not believe the candidates have had enough of an opportunity
to campaign (read: share their ideas for next year with their colleagues).
Therefore, I plan to place before Senate a motion to postpone the election
of Senate Officers until 42 UAS 18 (May 2nd). If you are a candidate
presently under consideration, please e-mail *me* (ua-speaker@mit.edu)
immediately if you would actually prefer that election procedures take plac=
e
at Monday's meeting. Otherwise, please feel free to discuss this topic on
the mailing list.

Also, there are a good number of requests for this week's agenda, so please
excuse the delay in its production.

Thanks,
Jont=E9 Craighead
