Hi, everyone:

Thanks to the work of the UA President and Vice President, I am pleased to
announce three additional Senate guests for this semester.

Our new Chancellor, Prof. Eric Grimson, will be our guest at 42 UAS 13
(March 14th, 2011) to speak about his experiences at the Institute and his
priorities as Chancellor. Later that evening, Dr. Henry Humphreys, Senior
Associate Dean for Residential Life & Dining, will briefly visit to request
a Senate recommendation on how best to identify the needs of non-dining
dorms with respect to kitchen facilities.

Lastly, Theresa Stone, MIT Executive Vice President and Treasurer, will be
our guest at 42 UAS 14 (March 28, 2011) to discuss MIT's finances.

With that said, and looking to Monday's meeting (42 UAS 12), we will not
have a guest speaker. Please find a link to the agenda below.

This week we will start off with a discussion on the "Top 10 Things Student=
s
want Professors to Know," which will be led by the Student Committee on
Education Policy (SCEP). Afterwards, we will consider a Vice Chair for
FinBoard and continue hearing reports from our committees. 42 UAS 12.1 has
already been sent out to the list, and I would expect the NomComm Slate and
Minutes from 42 UAS 11 to be announced before the end of this weekend.

You will likely note that I did not list any discussion topics for this
meeting, despite allocating time. If there is an issue that you or your
constituents would like to bring before the assembly, please announce it to
Senate before the meeting if at all possible. This, along with regular
online discussion of other topics, will ensure that we do not waste time on
the Senate floor addressing points that could have been resolved before the
meeting.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I will be hosting my office
hours as usual from 8:00pm to 10:00pm in the UA Office (W20-401), and I
encourage you to drop by.

Thanks,
Jont=E9 Craighead
