Hi all:

I just wanted to double check with the Orientation office to ensure that we=
are all on the same page relative to the statements below. I thought that=
this might be helpful for UA when going about making implementation recomm=
endations - and to ensure that we are all on the same page. Thanks, Alex f=
or sending this out! Please see any changes in bold below:

Subject: Facts about FPOPs, REX, and Orientation

I think it would be useful to comprise all the facts we know about FPOPs, R=
EX and Orientation prior to making policy or implementation recommendations=
about changes to these programs. I've written down some facts I think woul=
d be useful for discussion purposes. I suggest that people add to this list=
 of information.

1. Students participating in International Orientation, FPOPs, and fall spo=
rts arrive earlier than the rest of the class. According to Julie Norman, t=
he students who arrive "early" comprise 75% of the class. True

2. Students who participated in Interphase may also have the opportunity to=
stay on campus after Interphase ends, and thus would be on campus prior to=
 the normal arrival date. True

3. The FPOPs on the newly proposed schedule would begin on Thursday and end=
either on Sunday or Monday. A definite date for FPOPS has not been set yet=
.

4. Students participating in DEAPS Yellowstone, DEAPS Climate, FOP Hiking, =
FOP Biking, FOP Sailing, and FLP will not be on campus for the duration of =
their FPOPs. DEAPS Climate travels for one day out of four; Apparently ther=
e has not been a biking program in 3 years.

5. Freshmen must be registered on Thursday before classes begin (according =
to Dean Norman). True

6. Freshmen must take the math diagnostic and ASEs before registering for c=
lasses. True; these will determine what classes freshmen will enroll in.
