Hi Anna,
It's nice to see how reactive you are to student input.
It took me a bit to figure out which of the proposed views were
relavent to me. It seems to me that each event on the calendar are
meant for three core groups. While items like holidays apply to
everyone, others like "Advanced Standing" or "Minor Completion" only
apply to undergraduates. Others, like "Thesis due" makes more sense
for graduate students and "Department Grades Meetings" only make sense
for administrators.
Thus, if you had three calendars, undergraduate, graduate, and
administrator, you would cover the three largest contingents at MIT.
Most people know which one is most relavent to them and would know
which to grab.
And even if there are some events that only apply to say Foreign
Freshmen (like the "English evaluation test"), putting it in the
undergraduate calendar and erring a bit on the side of irrelevance is
okay. Making more targeted calendars already does a lot to make them
more relevant to students.
