Hello everyone,
I wanted reach out to all of you in particular. If you are interested in
serving on CIPR, please let me know as soon as possible (by tonight would
be great) so that I can fill the remaining seat. Committee meetings
will also be open (unless that becomes a major barrier to the committee
being productive) and you can subscribe to ua-cipr-announce
(http://mit.edu/moira) for regular announcements.
I will likely send another email in the next day soliciting initial input
to help guide this committee, but you can also email
ua-cipr-chairs@mit.edu at anytime with any input, feedback, questions,
etc.
Thanks,
-Rachel

Subject: Potential changes to student government
Hello Undergraduates,
Last week the UA Senate created the Ad-Hoc Committee on Restructuring to
evaluate proposals for restructuring of student government and that Committee
reported on its findings to the UA yesterday. As one of the next steps in this
process, the UA Senate has now formed an ad-hoc committee to review and report
on the implementation of the proposed structure. The new Ad-Hoc Committee on
Implementation of Potential Restructuring (CIPR) will also be focusing on
communicating with the undergraduate student body and other stakeholders, both
to share information and receive feedback on the proposed structure and its
implementation. This committee will be reporting back to Senate at its next
meeting on Thursday 4/14.
More information about both this new committee and the previous Committee on
Restructuring is posted at: http://ua.mit.edu/restructuring. (Meeting
information will also be posted as it becomes available.)
If you are interested in receiving regular email updates about CIPR, then you
can subscribe yourself to ua-cipr-announce@mit.edu (you can use Moira to do so:
http://mit.edu/moira). This list will receive meeting announcements, agendas,
and minutes as well as serve as a forum for open discussion. Additionally,
there is currently one vacant seat on this committee; if you are interested in
being considered for that seat please email ua-cipr-chairs@mit.edu.
Further information about opportunities for learning about the proposal and
giving feedback will be announced once it is available. Please do not hesitate
to email ua-cipr-chairs@mit.edu with any questions, comments, or feedback.
Best,
Rachel Meyer
Chair, Ad-Hoc Committee on Implementation of Potential Restructuring
