To elaborate a bit on Alex's point:

Yes, McCormick has its own endowment, which is restricted for
McCormick-specific purposes.  The endowment is not specifically set aside
for McCormick's dining deficit -- it's also been used for renovation -- but
it can (and, I believe, has) been put towards dining.

I learned about McCormick's endowment when some former DPC members and I met
with Kathryn Hess (Professor Stewart's wife, one of McCormick's
housemasters) last August.  Kathryn was fairly vague about the endowment,
though, and either declined to say or didn't know most of the details of the
endowment.
