Since both Tim and I are unable to attend the meeting tonight due to the
moved time, I'll be submitting the Senate update via email.

The UA Retreat was last weekend; anecdotes from the attendeese seem to agree
that it was a success for all. Although we included some personal
development activities, much of the weekend focused on how to improve the
UA. Senators spent a few hours brainstorming with one another about how to
improve meeting efficiency, reach out to constituents, and other ideas.
Exec, likewise, spent time working on various projects and improvment. As a
group, we also briefly discussed some of the old UA reports, as well as a
summary of UA finances (prepared by Alex Dehnert).

The Senate passed two bills during 41 UAS 2 and 41 UAS 3:
http://web.mit.edu/ua/senate/UAS41/2/1/.pdf and
web.mit.edu/ua/senate/UAS41/2/2/.pdf

I am pleased with both bills, especially 2.2.

Over the coming week or two, I will be encouraging Senators to start holding
events using Constituency Fund money and ensuring that they become active
with a committee or individual project.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask via email. If anything
comes up during the Exec meeting, the best initial point of contact is
probably the Senate Rep to Exec, Richard Dahan, although

Sincerely,
Paul
