From: jered@MIT.EDU Date: Tue, 7 Nov 1995 21:37:31 -0500 To: bug-outland@MIT.EDU Cc: infoagents@MIT.EDU, software-announce@MIT.EDU I have installed VRweb version 1.0b4 in outland as vrweb. VRweb is a VRML (Virtual Reality Modelling Language) viewer, meant to be used in conjunction with a WWW browser in most cases. On all platforms but the SGI, vrweb uses the mesa OpenGL-alike library. (vrweb is symlinked to vrweb-mesa.) On the SGI the default version uses OpenGL, so this is a symlink to vrweb-ogl. To have your web browser spawn VRweb automagically, add the following line to your ~/.mailcap : x-world/x-vrml; vrweb %s; (You must first have added outland. Alternately, you can specify the full path to vrweb.) VRweb is installed for all 6 major platforms. --Jered jered@mit.edu
